my name ist Felipe Fernandes.

Since 2010 I´m working as independent photographer based in Darmstadt/Germany (close to Frankfurt). While it started as a hobby, photography became my passion pretty fast. By the time I sold my first pictures and gained the first jobs, I realized that it might be a way to finance my mechanical engineering studies. After completing my studies, I remained active as a photographer during my doctoral studies at the TU Darmstadt. After completing my doctoral thesis, I now work for Heidelberger Druckmaschinen. As a photographer, my focus is on capturing moments as naturally as possible. Accordingly, I have meanwhile specialized in photo reportages, consciously trying to avoid the use of flash light and also proceed as discreetly as possible in post-processing. For me, the image is created in and in front of the camera and not on the computer.

mein Name ist Felipe Fernandes.

Seit 2010 bin ich als Fotograf mit Homebase in Darmstadt selbstständig. Als Hobby gestartet, ist die Fotografie schnell zu einer Leidenschaft geworden. Mit den ersten Fotojobs wurde mir klar, dass die Fotografie eine Möglichkeit zur Finanzierung meines Maschinenbaustudiums ist. Nach Abschluss des Studiums bin ich während meiner Promotionszeit an der TU Darmstadt  als Fotograf aktiv geblieben und nach Fertigstellung der Doktorarbeit nun bei Heidelberger Druckmaschinen tätig. Als Fotograf liegt mein Fokus auf dem Festhalten von Momenten in möglichst natürlicher Form. Dementsprechend habe ich mich mittlerweile auf Fotoreportagen spezialisiert, wobei ich bewusst den Einsatz von Blitzlicht zu vermeiden versuche und auch in der Nachbearbeitung so dezent wie möglich vorgehe. Das Bild entsteht für mich in und vor der Kamera und nicht am Rechner.
